What a lovely post - I've never tried fresh figs. I can never believe that the ones in UK shops will be ripe enough, and the only way to get tomatoes that have a good flavour is to grow them yourself.
Heather - thank you too. Figs are beautiful, what a shame the figs in your shops are picked unripe and sold the same way. I agree about tomatoes, the ones in our Australian shops are hard and white inside; which is why we grow our own!
Last month I tried my first fresh fig, they're delicious! Gorgeous photos and I love all the colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks Darlene, and yes, there's nothing like fresh figs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Gilly
